I have always been a little scared of change. However, as scared as I am of change, it is time to CHOOSE to change in my life. I have been struggling with disordered eating for about six years and not living the healthy lifestyle that I really do WANT TO live. So, I want to share my journey to changing and recovery to maybe connect with those who are dealing with similar issues in their lives.

Scary Snack?
Most people look at the Lara Bar posted above and see a healthy snack bar. To me it has always been intimidating, to me it always seemed TOO high in calories and fat to be a "healthy" snack. However, my nutritionist suggested theses bars as snacks on my meal plan and....today I ate one of these little bars as a snack. This may seem insignificant to most, but to me it is a huge step! I ate it, I liked it and when I was done with it I was satisfied. I took another step on my path to a healthier, balanced relationship with food and I have to say it felt pretty good! Another step I took today was buying quinoa at the store to try for dinner. I will report on that tomorrow because if it involves me cooking something new it could be quite a story...
